The Murmansk city administration turned to LINII for territorial brand development in 2014. Murmansk is the largest settlement in the world located above the Arctic Circle.

The Committee for economic development from the city Administration turned to Stas Marketing group and to our Agency to jointly develop the city brand — a tool that will contribute to social and economic development of Murmansk, will help attract investments, increase migration flow, develop tourism and improve demographic landscape.

At the first stage, we carried out a large-scale analytical work and formulated the main idea: Murmansk is a Russian outpost in the Arctic.

The logo was made up of letters closely pressed to each other. They are associated with brickwork and colored containers in the port. The city itself suggested the corporate palette: yellow is the color of the sun, blue is the color of the sea and sky, red — is a fish color. The set of pictograms includes: the building of the city administration, main sightseeings, natural phenomena and local cuisine.

We have created a large set of souvenirs, a brand book, a block for outdoor advertising and printing, and also formed the principles for using the logo and typography in the urban environment.

Brand of Murmansk was awarded the 1st place at the OPEN Fest territorial branding festival in Minsk in 2014, the diploma of the winner of the Tourist Brand — Best Practices contest in 2016, and the 1st place of the National Awards in the field of territorial marketing and branding in 2017 year.
